What is SnowDates?

SnowDates answers a simple question: when does it snow where you live? We track 241 U.S. cities and 90 ski resorts, publishing the average date of the first and last measurable snowfall, snow season length, average annual snowfall, and typical ski season dates.

City statistics are computed from real NOAA GHCN-Daily station records over the 1990–91 through 2019–20 snow seasons — the same 30-year window as NOAA's official 1991–2020 climate normals. See the methodology for exactly how each number is derived.
